Social responsibility and the rules in which we believe in.

Respect of the fundamental principles of living together:: a social necessity that has always been touched upon, but only now has matured and is strongly perceived as a common commitment to carry out. A responsibility that everyone has to assume, including people who “look after themselves”. Thanks to the recent “awareness” of some foreign countries that have chosen social responsibility as the centre of gravity of a politics aimed at not only at business, but also social issues, that in recent years has developed in our country, attention towards grand social themes that everyone can contribute to with small actions. It is small actions that can result in a social growth strategy – via refinement of responsibility – for the development of the country (and therefore, of entrepreneurship and productivity) in the terms of efficiency and sustainability. Our work philosophy has always followed this route: the efficient development of professionalism respecting the rules of living together to increase the sustainability of work (ours and of our Clients). We have decided to collect and write down these rules that we’ve applied for years: a code of conduct that allows you to understand “the cut” of our studio, with the goal of creating synergies with people who share our ideals.

Our rules for social responsibility
In the workplace:

• In the office, everyone has a personal workplace, properly equipped with all the necessary tools.
• Everyone has access to data banks and communal volumes with constant updates and revisions.
• Everyone has access, also out of hours, to communal and personal work spaces while respecting reciprocal confidentiality.
  Contractual hours, breaks and holidays are respected, and overtime is arranged with staff consent to cover extraordinary commitments. Health and security issues in the work place, as well as personal development are dealt with by specifically chosen external consultants; this includes periodic medical checks and periods for training.

• Cartridges for printers, fax machines and photocopiers are recycled, and differentiated refuse collection is carried out for batteries, plastic items and paper, which is shredded before disposal when it contains confidential or personal data.
• Separate billing periods (winter and summer) are respected for energy use to avoid wastage.
• Periodic reminders are sent by e-mail to all staff to avoid wasting paper and energy.
Commitments and the taking on of “Pro Bono” work:

• The partners and collaborators take on defensive work for people in need, low economic resources, and on court appointment.
• The partners of the studio are committed to voluntary associations and bodies, and annually donate to some associations that look after less fortunate people and care for the environment.
Extra professional scientific commitments (with for our clients):

• Some of the partners and collaborators are constantly committed at the University in the field of research and teaching; others carry out occasional training and refresher courses, one partner is committed regularly in the organisation of training events for health and safety in the work place officials to spread the culture of safety on the work place.
• These commitments over the years have resulted in the publication of several books, scientific articles and recently, two volumes completed edited by the firm (on the safeguarding of buyers of property under construction and on Distance contracts in the light of the recent code of consumption, with Cedam) and one in collaboration with other professionals/ specialists in the sector (on safety in the work place, with Il Sole 24 Ore).
• For years, the lawyers, above and beyond the rules recently introduced, keep professionally updated, by participating, also as lecturers at scientific events, in their main fields of activity.
Multidisciplinary services for the client:

• Many lawyers in the firm have followed several levels of a commercial English course organised internally, to improve communication between clients and foreign colleagues; several staff of the firm, as virtually all the lawyers, know some foreign languages and the office manager speaks all the main foreign European languages.
• For a long time, the firm has maintained close collaborative links with other lawyers in other sectors (just as an example, in various technical fields, such as in the study of balance sheets, investigations, the medical field, and food science).
• The firm is amongst the founding partners of a network of lawyers, that includes various professionals, that cover or have covered commissions for the group, throughout Italy, to make the approach to justice easier for clients with territorially different needs. At the moment it is the firms turn to be president.
• One partner has been involved for many years with the work group of the CCBE (Council of the Order of European Lawyers) that is occupied with Company Social Responsibility, developing over the years a number of guidelines to the subject and studying in depth various aspects of this important issue (a brief presentation has been published with the aim of raising awareness of the subject).
